What to do if your Child Chokes (video included)

Upon first sharing this video, I was overjoyed and humbled that nearly 30,000 of you took the time to watch and equip yourselves with these life-saving skills and knowledge. I know many of you shared the video with your close friends and family, so, thank you! We really are saving lives.

After the first baby choking video was posted, I received a lot of questions about what to do if a toddler chokes (12 months and older). So, I went on a date with my husband and cute little four-year-old and we made another informative video for you! After, we promptly went out for a shaved ice to celebrate because she only yawned once during the filming ; )

I encourage you to share this step-by-step video with any babysitters, caregivers, in-laws, grandparents, and anyone that may be taking care of children.

Tips to Prevent Child Choking

1. Eliminate choking hazards (small objects/toys) in the places where they may play independently, especially their rooms.2. Encourage them to sit while they eat. Running or playing with food greatly increases the chance of choking.3. Various food items present more of a choking hazard than others, such as: chunks of meat or cheese, whole grapes, carrots, pretzels and other snack food.
